How Target put a target on its own back


 


You know how Target used to be that spot where you could slide in, maybe a lil’ tipsy, and just go ham on random stuff you didn’t even know you needed? Bikinis for trips you ain’t planning, yoga mats for workouts you ain’t starting, and enough Hot Cheetos to feed a block party. Target was the vibe—fun, spontaneous, and full of surprises. But lately? Nah, it’s been strugglin’. Folks ain’t splurging like they used to, and Target’s caught in the middle of all these culture wars, tryna please everybody but endin’ up pleasing nobody. Conservatives mad, progressives mad—it’s a whole mess.

They tried to backpedal on some stuff to avoid backlash, but all it did was make everybody mad. Conservatives sued ‘em, progressives boycotted ‘em, and now they’re just out here lookin’ confused. It’s like they forgot who they were tryna be.

Problem is, the economy ain’t on their side, and neither is the culture war. They’re operatin’ from a weak spot, and every move they make just puts ‘em deeper in the crosshairs.
